Make sure you review web hosting with free unlimited domain & webspace @ webhostingfreereviews.com
There are URLs being launched daily, so no doubt there will be more to add to this list, continually.

here are a few >
www.intuit.com
www.tiptopwebsite.com/
www.webstarts.com

Godaddy.com  = domain names + web hosting
* Those of you with Creative Cloud can build for free at http://behance.net

www.PLANNING
creating an architectural blue print
Each of you will be creating a website to accompany your BFA thesis exhibitions.
You will first need a domain name for your site that may have an annual or biannual fee.
Find and review other artist/designer websites.
It's helpful to discover ones you wish to emulate as excellent models to help you build your own, as well as those that you know will not suit your personal needs.
Your web address will be placed on all your promotional materials during your exhibition and on any out-going professional materials.

organization is important
The organization of your website immediately conveys a great deal of information about you to your audience.
Where each category is listed on your 'home' page immediately implies a hierarchy.
Below, the ‘builder’ wants the audience to see their CV first, CONTACT info last.

CV
BIO
STATEMENT
IMAGES (subdivided into 2D / 3D work / separated by medium)
VIDEO WORK
EXHIBITIONS
PRESS (text and other writings)
GRANTS  = AWARDS
COMMISSIONS
ARTIST’S LECTURES & PRESENTATIONS
PUBIC + PRIVATE COLLECTIONS
BLOG
LINKS
CONTACT et al.

Loosely sketch out on paper, or in your computer, how you wish to see your website take shape.

the question is,
What do you wish to illustrate to your audience?
How do you want the world to navigate through your pages?

begin >
Your website does not have to be launched until you are satisfied.

maintain >
You need to post to your site with up-dated information on-going.
There is nothing more unprofessional than information that is out-of-date on any website.
